My entry for the Game Off 2023. The theme: "scale". I want to address the theme in 2 ways:

1. "scale" a byproduct of forging metals, in German: "Glühspan"

2. "scale" as in scaling your economy, expand and make an awful lot of money

You progress through the game by clicking on the flags near the buildings.

The flags do have different meanings. Colors will show you if there is an update available (blue flag), the building is maxed out (green flag) or you can't do anything right now (gray flag).

Upgrades become available if certain milestones are hit, but you won't know what they exactly are. It might be obtaining a specific material at least once, or producing a certain amount of it.

The merchants shack is one of the first unlocked buildings and it allows you to sell items. Open the interface and rotate through the items by clicking the button.

Continue to produce new goods, discover new recipes and unlock new buildings!

It was fun to play through once. I felt it was pretty slow waiting to get enough money for the bazaar, but after that I was able to buy everything else without waiting much and get to the end pretty quickly. Then I'm like, "Welp, I have like 50k now and I clicked on all the buildings and tried selling all the items so I guess that's it :D"

But yeah, nice work!

Took me ages to figure out the sound means there is available upgrade and that blue flags means it is "ready".

Game needs to walk through the mechanics and be expanded. Was a fun 5 mins to beat.

Took a second to get the hang of but after I got it pretty neat.

Thanks a lot :)

AFter I build the coal mine, it vanished and I could not progress with the game anymore.

Thanks for letting me know! There actually was a bug with a few buildings and the game would crash if you updated them to the highest level. This is fixed now :)

Thank you. Works now! So I like the style and the theme. However, I'm afriad the game is very one dimensional so far. there is actually no decision I have had to make. I.e. leaving me to click through the game.

Yeah, that's true. I initially wanted to add more mechanics - like crafting and demands for specific products in the marketplace, but I just had to limit the scope to have something that I can submit to the Jam :(
